Review (the Passive Voice)

Hi!

You'll find some exercises to help you revise on your right. ( seen them?)right...

Remember...(ALWAYS...TO BE + PARTICIPLE) If you ha

In the passive sentences you have to use the verb TO BE in the same tense as the main verb in the active sentence. Don't forget to write the main verb in the past participle.

Active : The postman brings the letters.

Passive: The letters are brought by the postman.

"Bring· is in the present simple ( the -s is a clue), so we write the verb "to be" in that tense ( be careful if the subject is singular or plural) + the main verb "bring" is written in past participle.

A: I wrote a book.

P: A book was written.

"Wrote" = past simple, so we write the verb TO BE in the past simple ( was/were, be careful with singular and plural nouns again!) and after that we write "wrote" in its participle form= written.

Now, it's your turn...

A: I have just broken the window.

P: ....

Important: if there is a modal verb , remember that after them you should write a bare infinitive.

Enjoy!

( The window has just been broken...)- weird example here.

My weekend

I think it's a fun activity to repeat but instead of being a text from the book, it will be my weekend.

So in pairs, you'll have to write 5 meaningful sentences guessing what I did.

For next week, I want you to do the same thing writing a small paragraph and editing it on Wordle. You can either bring some copies or send your link to my email. Of course, you can also share the link in a comment here.
